Standards

The purpose of these abbreviations is to provide uniform contractions of terms relating to plastics. Abbreviated terminology has evolved through widespread common usage. This compilation of abbreviated nomenclature has been prepared to avoid the occurrence of ore than one abbreviation for a given plastics term, and double meanings for particular abbreviations.

This specification covers poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC) pipe made in standard thermoplastic pipe dimension ratios and pressure rated for water (see Appendix). Included are criteria for classifying PVC plastic pipe materials and PVC plastic pipe, a system of nomenclature for PVC plastic pipe, and requirements and test methods for materials, workmanship, dimensions, sustained pressure, burst pressure, flattening, and extrusion quality. Methods of marking are also given.

The products covered by this specification are intended for use with the distribution of pressurized liquids only, which are chemically compatible with the piping materials. Due to inherent hazards associated with testing components and systems with compressed air or other compressed gases, some manufacturers do not allow pneumatic testing of their products. Consult with specific product/component manufacturers for their specific testing procedures prior to pneumatic testing.

Included are criteria for classifying CPVC plastic pipe materials and CPVC plastic pipe, and requirements and test methods for materials, workmanship, dimension, sustained pressure, burst pressure, flattening, and extursion quality. Methods of marking are also given.

This standard specifies requirements for circular-cross-section seamless polypropylene (PP) pipes made from homopolymer polypropylene (PP-H), block copolymer polypropylene (PP-R) or random copolymer polypropylene with modified crystalline structure and elevated temperature resistance (PP-RCT).

This regional standard specifies requirements for high density polyethylene garbage badge which are normally used for the disposal of domestic and commercial waste. This standard does not apply to organisations such as government ministries, regulatory departments and agencies, associations and statutory bodies that do not provide a tourism related service.

This standard specifies requirements for an energy management and efficiency programme to be implemented at tourism establishments. It provides the basis to enable these tourism establishments to review their energy consumption and implement efficiency measures thus minimizing energy use.

This standard does not apply to organizations such as government ministries, regulatory departments and agencies, associations and statutory bodies that do not provide a tourism related service.
