This Recommendation specifies

·    legal metrology requirements for prepackaged products (also called prepackaged commodities or prepackaged goods) labeled in predetermined constant nominal quantities of mass, volume, linear measure, area, or count, and

·         sampling plans and procedures for use by legal metrology officials in verifying the quantity of product in prepackages.

NOTE:  The sampling plans are not recommended for use in the quantity control processes of the packer.

This standard specifies legal metrology requirements for labelled packaged commodities with constant nominal content and subject to international trade.  It also covers sampling plans for net content verification of goods declared in units of mass or volume.

This International Standards specifics requirements for self-declared environmental claims including statements symbols and graphic , regarding products . It further describes selected terms commonly used in environmental claims and give qualifications for their use. This international standard also describes a general evaluation and verification methodology for self-declared environmental claims and specific evaluation and verification methods for the selected claims in this standard. The International standards does not preclude , override, or in any way change legally required environmental information, claims or labelling or any other application legal requirements.

This standard specifies requirements for brewery products including beer, stout, shandy and malta; to be sold or traded in the CARICOM region.

 It is not applicable to beverages that are not derived from cereals, sold under common names including the words "beer" and "ale".

This document is applicable to packaged natural coconut water which is offered for sale and consumption. It applies only to coconut water which has been packaged in its natural state without the use of additives.

But it does not apply to the labelling of cases of such individual packages or cartons, irrespective of sizes, provided the cases are not displayed or used at the point of sale.
