This standard specifies the general labelling requirements for Electrical Equipment, Fittings and household electrical appliances and their detachable heating element(s) if any, offered for sale in Guyana. This Guyana Standard shall be applied for all Electrical Equipment, Fittings and household electrical appliance, should there be a standard for a particular product it shall be applied in conjunction with the labelling requirements of this standard.

The requirements cover television equipment intended for household and commercial use on supply circuits in accordance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70. 

This standards covers thermoplastic and rubber tapes for use as electrical insulation at not more than 600 V and at 80C (176 F) and lower temperatures on joints and splices in wires and cables in accordance with the National Electrical Code. It is intended that rubber tape on a joint or splice be mechanically protected by a covering such as friction tape . Thermoplastic tape is acceptable without the additional mechanical protection.

These requirements cover portable, stationary, and fixed uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) rated 600 volts or less ac or dc that are intended for installation in accordance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70.  During intended operation, the UPS allows the utility to deliver ac and dc power to the connected load through either the power conversion portion of the UPS or a bypass source. The power conversion portion of the UPS consists of a rectifier and an inverter.  During periods of power fluctuations, or power outage, or both, the connected load receives ac and dc power from the battery supply and power conversion portion of the UPS.

This standard describes the requirements and operational parameters for electrical appliance protectors for use with equipment at normal voltage of 110V, 120V,220V, 240V and a current of up to including 40 A.

This British Standard specifies requirements for the construction dimensions and mechanical and electrical properties of non- armoured polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulated cables for operation at voltages up to and including 450 V a.c. to earth and 750 V a.c between conductors, intended for electric power lighting and internal wiring.

This recommended practice (RP) sets criteria for the design, construction, testing, operation, and maintenance of offshore steel pipelines used in the production, production support, or transportation of hydrocarbons; that is, the movement by pipeline of hydrocarbon liquids, gases, and mixtures of these hydrocarbons with water. This RP may also be used for water injection pipelines offshore. The RP also applies to any transportation piping facilities located on a production platform downstream of separation and treatment facilities, including meter facilities, gas compression facilities, liquid pumps, associated piping, and appurtenances. The design, construction, inspection, and testing provisions of this RP may not apply to offshore hydrocarbon pipelines designed or installed before this latest revision of the RP was issued. The operation and maintenance provisions of this RP are suitable for application to existing facilities. 

This recommended practice is based on global industry best practices and serves as a guide for those who are concerned with the design and construction of new fixed offshore platforms and for the relocation of existing platforms used for the drilling, development, production, and storage of hydrocarbons in offshore areas.

This standard provides requirements for the installation and testing of blowout prevention equipment systems on land and marine drilling rigs (barge, platform, bottom-supported, and floating). This includes but is not limited to: BOPs (blowout preventers), Choke and kill lines, Choke and manifolds, Control systems, Auxiliary equipment. The primary functions of these systems are to confine well fluids to the wellbore, provide means to add fluid to the wellbore, and allow controlled volumes to be removed from the wellbore.

This standard does not apply to: Diverters, shut-in devices, and rotating head systems, as these systems are designed to safely divert or direct flow rather than to confine fluids to the well bore.
