Prescribes the requirements for metric capacity measures of cylindrical and conical shapes. It is intended for use by manufacturers in manufacturing Metric Capacity Measures thus ensuring all measures of a specified type and capacity will have the same dimensions. This standard specifies inter alia conversion factors to be used in converting quantities measured in Imperial to SI and other units. It sets out procedures for the uniform use for these conversion factors. It is intended for use in everyday operations in government commerce, industry, education certain branches of technology and sport.

This International Standard gives specifications for the angular coordinate system to be used in the design of scales, reticles or other display means incorporated in instruments for determining optical data on human eyes or corrective lenses for human eyes.

This Recommendation specifies

·    legal metrology requirements for prepackaged products (also called prepackaged commodities or prepackaged goods) labeled in predetermined constant nominal quantities of mass, volume, linear measure, area, or count, and

·         sampling plans and procedures for use by legal metrology officials in verifying the quantity of product in prepackages.

NOTE:  The sampling plans are not recommended for use in the quantity control processes of the packer.

This standard specifies legal metrology requirements for labelled packaged commodities with constant nominal content and subject to international trade.  It also covers sampling plans for net content verification of goods declared in units of mass or volume.

This document specifies the general requirements for the competence, impartiality and consistent operation of laboratories. It is applicable to all organizations performing laboratory activities, regardless of the number of personnel.

Laboratory customers, regulatory authorities, organizations and schemes using peer-assessment, accreditation bodies, and others use this document in confirming or recognizing the competence of laboratories.

This International Standard contains requirements for the competence of bodies performing inspection and for the impartiality and consistency of their inspection activities. It applies to inspection bodies of type A, B or C, as defined in this International Standard, and it applies to any stage of inspection.

NOTE The stages of inspection include design stage, type examination, initial inspection, in-service inspection or surveillance.

This International Standard contains requirements for the competence, consistent operation and impartiality of product, process and service certification bodies. Certification bodies operating to this International Standard need not offer all types of products, processes and services certification. Certification of products, processes and services is a third-party conformity assessment activity (see ISO/IEC 17000:2004, definition 5.5).

In this International Standard, the term “product” can be read as “process” or “service”, except in those instances where separate provisions are stated for “processes” or “services” (see Annex B).

This standard establishes the minimum energy performance standards (MEPs) for refrigerating appliances and relevant test method to specify the energy label.  It also specifies the energy label requirements.
