Adopted CRCP 1: 2010. This Code of Practice recommends appropriate general techniques for collecting, processing, packaging, storing, transporting, distributing and offering for sale, all bottled or packaged drinking water for direct consumption.

This standard establishes general labelling requirements for goods. It is applicable to all goods which are sold, distributed or used, except those for which more specific requirements have been elsewhere prescribed in CARICOM Regional Standards, or national regulations.

This standard specifies requirements for the information to be included on labels of goods pre-packaged for sale, the method of display of such information, and where necessary, the wording and units of measurements to be used. This standard does not apply to the following: a) Goods that are sold unpackaged, or in an open or uncovered package; b) Goods that are weighed, measured or counted in the presence of the purchaser with or without being packaged. c) Goods in packages not intended for retail sale; d) Goods or classes of goods where different or additional information is prescribed by any CARICOM Regional Standard. e) Goods intended for export only which comply with the requirements of standards or laws on labelling enforced in the country to which they are being exported; f) Gift-wrapped goods; g) Markings on shipping containers; and h) Goods in commercial quantities that are not for retail sale.

This standard specifies the labelling requirements for toys and playthings sold in Guyana, whether they are locally made or imported. This standard shall be read in conjunction with GYS 9-1:1994, “Specification for labelling of commodities - Part 1: General principles”.

This standard specifies the labelling requirements for all biodegradable food containers manufactured in or imported into Guyana.

This specification covers rigid PVC and CPVC compounds intended for general purpose use in extruded or molded form, including piping applications involving special chemical and acid resistance or heat resistance, composed of poly(vinyl chloride), chlorinated poly(vinyl chloride), or vinyl chloride copolymers containing at least 80 % vinyl chloride, and the necessary compounding ingredients. The compounding ingredients may consist of lubricants, stabilizers, non-poly(vinyl chloride) resin modifiers, pigments, and inorganic fillers. Note 1—Selection of specific compounds for particular end uses or applications requires consideration of other characteristics such as thermal properties, optical properties, weather resistance, etc. Specific requirements and test methods for these properties shall be by mutual agreement between the purchaser and the seller.

This specification covers joints for plastic pipe systems intended for drain, and gravity sewerage pipe at internal or external pressures less than 25-ft head using flexible watertight elastomeric seals. this specification is intended to cover test requirements, test methods, and acceptable materials. the test methods described for the joints are not intended to be routine quality control tests but to be reliability or performance requirements.
