1                   Scope

1.1               This standard outlines a code of safety for chemical laboratories.

1.2              The standard outlines:

(a)               general rules of conduct concerning safety;

(b)               details for fire emergency and rescue procedures;

(c)               general laboratory techniques.

1.3              This standard does not cover hazards relating to radioactive substances.

This Code of Practice establishes the recommendations for the hygienic preparation of packaged natural coconut water  inclusive of harvesting, processing, packaging, storing, transporting and distributing.

This document specifies the general requirements and tests for safety devices for fuel gases and oxygen or compressed air which do not incorporate a flame (flashback) arrestor used downstream of manifold, cylinder and/or pipeline outlet regulators, and upstream of blowpipes for welding, cutting and allied processes. This document does not specify the location of these devices in the gas system. This document is not applicable to safety devices which incorporate a flame arrestor, covered by ISO 5175-1.

It takes into account legislative requirements and information about significant risks, that the laboratory can control and over which  it can be expected to have an influence, to protect its employees and others, whose health and safety may be affected by the activities of the laboratory.
